He made his Bollywood debut in 2006 in the murder mystery film 36 China Town, where he played a casanova type character who is suspected of murder. The film was a moderate success at the box office. His second film, Namastey London, where he played a supporting role was released on 23 March 2007 and also did well at the box office. He also won the prestigious Best Newcomer IIFA [International Indian Film Academy] Award in 2007 at a ceremony at Sheffield's Hallam Arena.
